Strike Action Information

First Buses: Industrial action is ongoing. Please check First Bus service updates for the latest information on service availability. 

Alternative services: 

• Adventure travel services are unaffected by the industrial action.

  • The T6 Service runs from Swansea (Quadrant) Bus Station (Stand F) to Bay Campus.
  • The 116 and 14 services run from Swansea (Quadrant) Bus Station to Singleton Campus (Stands T and X respectively).
  • For those aged 16–21, with a mytravelpass, discounted (£1 single tickets and £3 day tickets) are available on a wide range of local services, including adventure travel services.

The Park & Ride Shuttle Service operated by South Wales Transport, linking Fabian Way Park & Ride and Bay Campus, will run as normal (every 15 minutes) and is unaffected by the strike action. You can view the timetable here: U1 Bay Campus Park & Ride. 

An additional Fabian Way Park & Ride service will be provided on strike days only. This is a temporary intervention to support students during the industrial action only and will run from Fabian Way Park and Ride into Singleton Campus. Parking information for students is on the University website. 

If you live within walking or cycling distance of campus, we strongly encourage you to consider these options during strike days.

• Free locks and lights can be picked up from Fulton House Reception, Singleton, or the HWB, Engineering Central, on Bay Campus.
• If you are a cyclist at Swansea University, have you considered marking your bike with the Bike Register? Contact our travel officer to arrange yours. 
• We recommend wearing a helmet. Helmets and lights can be purchased from local cycle shops and on campus.

Train services are running as normal during the industrial action. 

• Plan your journey via Transport for Wales
• Student railcards and discounted fares remain valid

Check out the list of practical tips to help you plan your journeys:

• If travelling by bus, check the First Bus service updates webpage before you leave each morning.
• Allow extra travel time, especially during peak hours.
• Stay visible and safe if cycling and walking - wear bright colours and use lights.
• Think about creating a group of cycling and walking "buddies".
• Keep an eye on weather conditions.
• Have you thought of car or taxi sharing?
• If possible, plan backup travel options.
