Negotiating Extended Warranties and Service Plans

Academics purchasing equipment that is not considered core by the Equipment Committee should plan ahead, as the servicing costs of their equipment will not be covered by the faculty. It is strongly advised that researchers take out extended warranties and service plans when planning a purchase to ensure long-term support and reduce unexpected maintenance costs.
