Student ID Card

1. Log into your Hwb account and select Intranet.
   
   
2. Go to the student profile summary page. (This is the default page outside of enrolment periods. During enrolment periods, click on the Upload Photo button on the Student Online Enrolment page, as shown in the screenshot below.)
   
   
   
   
3. On the student profile page, click the 'Choose file' option and select an image to upload from your device. The numbers above and to the side of the image on the profile page represent the dimensions of the image (150 pixels wide and 180 pixels high). If the image you upload does not match these dimensions, it will be automatically resized for you.
   
   
   
   
4. After selecting a file, a warning will be displayed prior to uploading, informing you of any cut off dates and requirements for the image. Click the 'Upload Photo' to finish the process.
   
   
   
   
5. You should now see your changed photo along with a success message.
   
   
   
   
6. Your photo will be checked by the Hwb team within a few days of uploading. If it is unsuitable you will be notified by email and asked to repeat this process.

For your photo to be accepted:

• It must be a clear, passport style and recent headshot of you.
• You should be facing forward and looking straight at the camera.
• Your eyes must be open and clearly visible with no sunglasses or tinted glasses
• You should not have hair covering your eyes.
• The photo must be of your full head, without any covering, unless it is worn for religious beliefs or medical reasons.
• The photo must be of you on your own, with no other people visible.
• The photo must be in colour, not black and white.
• Be vertical and portrait orientation.
• Be approximately 150 pixels wide by 180 pixels high and .jpg format.

Resizing Images

Please note that it may be necessary to reduce the image size or resolution, particularly if taking the photo on a newer mobile phone or other modern device. Guidance for this varies depending on the make and model but you should look for 'resize image' in your settings. Another workaround, is to screenshot the image you wish to upload, as this usually saves a lower resolution copy, and then upload the screenshot.

Example Images

The example images below on the left (with red crosses) show photos which don't meet the photo guidelines. The example images on the right (with green ticks) show photos which meet the guidelines and can be accepted.

Your card collection location depends on the course you are studying and where it is based. Please read our ID Card Collection page for more information.

If your course is based at Singleton Park Campus, you can collect your ID card from our Singleton Campus Hwb desk, located at the Digital Technium (building 24 on campus maps).

If your course is based at Bay Campus, you can collect your ID card from our Bay Campus Hwb desk, located at Engineering Central (building 4 on campus maps).

If your course is based at St David's Park Campus in Carmarthen, you will be informed how to collect your card.

(Please note, the campus where your course is based may not be the same campus as your accommodation. If you are unsure of where your course is based, you can check this on your student profile on the University intranet.)

ID Card collection will be available during Hwb Desk open hours, between 8.30am - 17.00pm.

Make sure you've completed the checklist below before you go to collect your card:

• Upload your photo so that we can print your card in advance of your visit
• Complete your online enrolment
• Check your collection location and opening hours
• Remember to bring the passport or alternative ID which you uploaded to the intranet before you enrolled
