Welcome Week for September 2025 will take place from 22nd– 26th September 2025, with a range of events taking place each day. Effort should be made by you to attend all events listed within the below timetable.
Events are a chance to gain insight to your chosen degree programme, ask questions and get to know both staff and students in your department. We look forward to meeting you!

This timetable is for students beginning Year 0 or 1 in Physics, Physics with Particle Physics and Cosmology, Theoretical Physics or Astrophysics.
Monday 22nd September
11:00 - 12:30 - Foundation & Year 1 Welcome Talk Physics at Swansea– Wallace 218, Wallace Building
Meet your student course mates for the first time along with Key Academic Staff from your Department who will introduce your programme of study, provide you with key academic information and direct you to useful course resources.
13:00 - 14:00 - Chance to drop by to meet academics from your course and ask any questions - Event Horizon, Vivian Building
Tuesday 23rd September
11:00 - 12:30 - Foundation & Year 1 Welcome Talk Physics Student Life – Glyndwr E, Glyndwr Building
Meet your student course mates and key academic staff for a chance to learn about student life.
Friday 26th September
11:00-12:00 - Foundation & Year 1 Guidance on AI - Glyndwr E, Glyndwr Building
Learn about the use of Artificial Intelligence in Physics
15:00 - 18:00 - Welcome social with the Physics Society - Room C, Fulton House
Meet up with all Physics students and department for a event led by the Physics society, with a chance to meet higher level students.
