Wellbeing and Disability Services are offering free courses for the first term suitable for all students who are experiencing traits and characteristics of neurodiversity, the impact of physical pain as well as mental health concerns.

Course Name: Introduction to ADHD - Impact and Support

These sessions aim to provide students who are diagnosed with and/or experience traits and characteristics of ADHD obtain a better understanding of how symptoms can impact on studies and student life.

  • Location: Online
  • Duration: One-off one-hour session
  • Dates: 15th October 2025 (then every other week until end of term)
  • Information: Suitable for students who are diagnosed or seeking a diagnosis of ADHD

This course will help students understand the reasons they encounter certain challenges and provides advice and guidance on overcoming these barriers while building a resilience through known successful strategies and shared experiences.

Course Name: Dial Down your Pain

This course aims to assist students gain a clearer understanding of pain, help rewire their nervous system response, and build trust in their body to help release tension.

  • Location: Singleton Campus in person
  • Duration: 6 two-hour sessions (students would be expected to attend all 6 sessions)
  • Dates: Thursday 23rd October 2025 to Thursday 27th November 2025
  • Information: For students with any type of long-term pain (6-months +).

There’ll be time to share your own experiences and learn effective strategies to manage long-term pain and other techniques to reduce anxiety levels around the pain you are experiencing.

Course Name: Sensory Strategies for student wellbeing & stress management

This comprehensive course provides students with an in-depth exploration of their own sensory processing patterns and how these impact academic performance, wellbeing, and daily functioning. Students will develop a deeper understanding of their unique sensory needs while building effective self-management strategies and connecting with peers facing similar challenges.

  • Location: Singleton Campus in person
  • Duration: 6 two-hour sessions (students would be expected to attend all 6 sessions)
  • Dates: Tuesday October 21st 2025 to Tuesday November 25th 2025
  • Information: Suitable for students diagnosed with or experiencing traits of neurodiverse and/or wellbeing conditions
  • Location: Singleton Campus in person
  • Duration: 1 off session
  • Date: December 2nd 2025
  • Information: Students will be provided with their own journal

Based on the principles of sensory integration therapy, this course will support those who are struggling with sensory differences, mental health concerns and being overwhelmed to help calm and regulate the nervous system using different sensory strategies.

Course Name: Journaling for wellbeing and mental health workshop

This interactive workshop introduces participants to the evidence-based practice of journaling as a powerful tool for enhancing mental health and personal wellbeing.

Through guided exercises and structured reflection, participants will discover how journaling can foster mindfulness, deepen self-awareness, and improve overall life satisfaction.
