Join with Year 1 students where you will get the opportunity to meet the Mechanical Engineering  Society, Formula Student and join in on the mech eng activity!

Tuesday 22nd September 2026

10:00 - 14:00 - Campus Tours and Activities - B001

Group tours of Engineering facilities led by academic staff. With group numbers assigned at the induction on Monday you will go on tours of the engineering facilities you will become familiar with throughout your studies with a chance to speak to your course colleagues, academics, and current students about the facilities, societies, research and all things Swansea has to offer in Engineering. Tour stops are scheduled to include the Flight Simulators, Wind Tunnel, Creu (The Manufactory), Formula Student, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering and more...

15:00-17:00 Scavenger Hunt and Social - B001

To meet at B001 as a starting point you will go on a scavenger hunt across campus to help familiarise yourself with the campus completing a series of tasks. Once you have completed your scavenger hunt we will meet at the Hideaway with various prizes to be won.

10:00 - 11:00 - MSc's Mechanical Engineering & MSc Fusion Engineering Welcome Talk - School of Management Room 102

Meet your student course mates for the first time along with Academic staff from your department who will introduce your programme of study, provide you with key academic information and direct you to useful course resources.

13:00 - 14:00 - MSc with a Year in Industry Talk - Engineering Programmes - B001, Engineering Central

For those starting an MSc with a Year In Industry, please attend this session with Dr Vasileios Samaras who will provide an overview of what to expect throughout your programme.

14:00 - 16:00 All MSc programmes Social - The Sports Hall, Bay Campus

 Join your peers for a social team building activity with GETACTIVE to welcome all new MSc Students. A great way to start your year by forming friendships and new networks. There will also be a chance to win some prizes!
