Academic Decision: Repeat Level

Your Academic Decision is Repeat Level.  This means that you have failed to qualify to proceed to the next level of study.  You are therefore required to repeat the level during the next academic session as a full-time internal candidate and will automatically forfeit any credit previously gained at the current level. If you require information regarding tuition fees, please contact studentfinance@swansea.ac.uk

If you applied for deferrals, all outcomes are provisional subject to ratification by the examination board on reviewing the full profile of results and as such any previously granted deferrals may now been superseded with a Repeat Level decision.

Alternatively, if you have gained credits, you may apply to your Faculty/School to repeat failed modules only as an internal candidate using the form available here. Applications should be submitted prior to enrolment and will be considered according to strict criteria and so you are advised to discuss this as an option with your Faculty/School beforehand.  Candidates in Levels 5 and 6 (non-final year) who are permitted to repeat failed modules only as an internal candidate will have their marks capped at the pass mark (40%).

Pease note: if you opt to repeat failed modules only, you are required to pursue and pass your failed modules during the next academic year before you can progress onto the next level of study.

Curriculum Transformation - If opting to repeat failed modules only, please be aware that the University is currently undergoing a period of curriculum transformation and therefore, you may be required to pursue alternative module/s to those originally failed. Your Faculty will be able to provide further information with regards to the impact on your specific programme of study. With regards to the financial implications, please note that if the ‘new’ module/s which you are required to pursue are higher in credit than the original failed module/s, the original credit fees will apply. If you have any questions or would like further information with regards to the impact on your specific programme of study, please contact Curriculumreview@swansea.ac.uk

If you have passed fewer than 20 credits during the academic session, we strongly encourage you to contact your Faculty/School to discuss whether continuing studies on your current programme of study is the right option for you. You may wish to discuss your options for applying to transfer to an alternative programme of study.
