Welcome Week

We look forward to meeting you in Welcome Week. there is a varied programme of events throughout the week, which we hope will inform and motivate you as you begin your programme of studies. you’ll also have plenty of opportunities to socialise with your coursemates and learn about the support available to you while you study.

Your Welcome Week timetable is below, and we encourage you to get involved in as many of these activities as possible. sessions which are compulsory for new students are noted on the timetable. Please note that this is different from your teaching timetable, which will take effect when lectures begin on Monday 28th September.

Monday 21st September

10:00 - 11:00  Welcome Talk *Compulsory*

Wallace Building, First Floor, Room 113

Meet your programme director, who will introduce your programme of study, provide key academic information and direct you to course resources.

Tuesday 22nd September Friday 25th September

Year 1 Subject Sessions

The compulsory sessions on Monday and Tuesday are just for you as Foundation Year Humanities students.

However, as mentioned in the subject list dropdown section above, when you move into Year 1 of your programme, you will join your 'home' subject. Therefore, you are very welcome to attend any Year 1 welcome sessions for your home subject for the rest of the week as you are able.

You may also get invited to a Personal Tutor meeting this week via email from an academic staff member from your home subject.
